Participants will be introduced to the arithmetic rack as a tool to support students in understanding numbers and key combinations within the 1-10 range. Designed for interventionists, teachers, and instructional leaders, the session provides hands-on practice in small groups to develop modeling skills and effective questioning techniques. Educators will leave with practical strategies for helping students use the structure of the arithmetic rack to add and subtract with non-counting strategies, as well as tasks and approaches to foster mathematical thinking—all without requiring prior certification.
